Transitional Living is for young men and women ages 16-21 and focuses on transitional housing and homeless prevention. These young adults come to Transitional Living from all over the state of Missouri. Darr House for boys in Springfield has the capacity to serve 20 young men. Laura’s Home for girls in Willard has the capacity to serve 10 young women.
Each group home prepares these young adults to live successfully and independently with basic life skills as they prepare to leave the Foster Care system. Many residents pursue their education and launch into their career. Throughout their time in Transitional Living, these young adults will establish a personalized community support network that continues as they leave Foster Care.
